Debiruss College in conjunction with the ministry of health, ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation, ministry of youths and social development and action health incorporated held a maiden Campaign Against Female Genital Mutilation on 11th October 2018.

The college nurse (CHUKWUDIRE PEACE U.) and students planned and organised this campaign to create awareness of female genital mutilation among students and help in eradicating this barbaric practice by next decade.

There was a sensitization talk on the subject by the ministry of youths & social development’s representative MR ISMAHEEL, action health incorporated representative MS TINA and the launcher CHUKWUDIRE PEACE U.

Parents, Students and staff from Refiners school, Eritoy School and Grace Springs School, Police officers and some people from the community were in attendance for this event.

There was a road walk from Thera Annex Estate through Crown Estate Lekki Ajah Express Road and the students were so excited to be part of a change.
